David Fairclough is an English retired footballer, best known for his time playing as a striker for Liverpool during the 1970s and 1980s. He also had a notable career with Tranmere Rovers during the 1989-1990 season. Fairclough was nicknamed "Super Sub" for his ability to score crucial goals coming off the bench. After retiring from professional football, he pursued a career in journalism and currently resides in Formby, Liverpool.
